Palace of the End

January 2008- I have been working on PALACE OF THE END at Canadian Stage Company. The play is a new work by internationally acclaimed Canadian playwright, Judith Thompson and directed by director, actor, and past artistic director of Canadian Stage, David Storch.

PALACE OF THE END is a celebration of the voices of three people who were profoundly affected by the war in Iraq. Maev Beaty (an american soldier), Julian Richings (a british microbiologist) and Arsinee Khanjian (an Iraqi mother) delivered virtuoso performances.

My involvement on this project was that of Intern Director under Mr. Storch.

Judith Thompson was awarded the 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for PALACE OF THE END, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award’s highest honor. PALACE was also the winner of the 2008 Dora Award for Outstanding New Play. Julian Richings and Arsinee Khanjian were both nominated in the outstanding performance in a principal role categories.
